The issue originated from both surface runoff and subsurface water flowing downhill from the rear and side yards of neighbouring properties. In the absence of a robust drainage system to intercept this influx, the water was forced to flow beneath the house.

Developing an Effective Drainage Solution

CS Plumbing designed and installed a gravity-fed French drain system, specifically created to capture and redirect water before it could reach the foundation of the home.

The project encompassed several critical components:

A French drain system meticulously engineered to collect surface and subsurface water from adjacent properties, directing it via gravity to a concrete pit.
A 100mm PVC pipe leading from the pit to the curb, featuring strategically drilled holes in the curb to ensure effective discharge.
Three new, larger-diameter Colorbond metal downpipes that replaced the original smaller pipes, linked to new 100mm PVC piping leading to the curb.
A retaining wall system constructed along the boundary, employing concrete sleepers and galvanised steel posts, with auger holes drilled using an excavator to create a sturdy barrier to hold back the neighbouring yard.
Efficient on-site soil removal, facilitated by a dumper to streamline site management.
